The Harmony Horsemanship Camp June 2023

I went on my first camp away from the local area with my horse this year as I saw the Harmony Horse Camp advertised on Facebook. It looked just what I needed to get me and Galaxy out and about doing something a bit different.

About The Harmony Horse Camp

What the facebook page says.

Our camp is a perfect camp for those of you who have no confidence with their horse or who wants to regain that confidence back. Our camps provide knowledge on how to naturally communicate with your horse starting from the ground then working in to the seat and progressing from there. We will show you how to bond with your horse in a way you’ve always dreamt of doing. We will bring harmony between you and your horse. Our aim is not just to bring knowledge, comfort and confidence but also lots of fun as well as making new friends with like-minded people.

The booking Process

Once you book the the camp you receive a questionnaire asking what you would like to take part in over the 2 days and before the camp you get a detailed timetable of events including a meet up meal out on the arrival meeting, which is a great idea to break the ice and get to know others on the camp before you get started.

This camp was at Nettleton Grange. A lovely location in the Lincolnshire wolds.

Deane is the lady that runs these camps all over the UK she is an expert in equine natural horsemanship and also offers healing with Reiki!.

The Camp

On arrival I was warmly greeted by Deane and her colleague Vanessa, who showed me to a stable where I could get Galaxy settled in and then to the accommodation I had booked to stay in so I could get ready for the evening meal.

Day 1

We went to a lovely local pub and it was great to chat with likeminded people of all riding abilities and styles. We chatted about the timetable and Deane made sure everyone was comfortable, clear and happy with the plans for the weekend.

Day 2

We met up together and went though Horse Psychology which was really informative and explains a lot about how our horses behave and react.

We then did a practical session on finding our core and balance, which is essential for ridden work.
